Another Overnight to Warmer Climates

Monday night 7pm. Joyce took the 1st watch “back in the bunk”…said she needed her beauty sleep :):) .We have made the turn SW toward Charleston after rounding Cape Fear. We were sailing in 9-11 kts of wind at 4.8-5.4 kts… …a new low for me….my tolerance to when I turn the key and crank up the “iron” jenny has been coming down as I have stopped making the schedule primary and of course the increase in fuel cost. Of course my new mainsail helps…no way would I have been able to get that kind of speed from my old sail…reminded me of sailing on the Chesapeake back when I learned to sail. We should be in Charleston by 3pm tomorrow…this SW wind is a bummer ..looks like several days of it…getting stronger tomorrow night and Wed…so easier to motor into 10 kts…than 12-18. Might be able to meet up with Ken and Helen, friends from Inner Harbor East Marina back in Baltimore. They left 3 weeks ago today down the ditch.
Joyce is slowly making progress of putting some order to the boat. She is very subtle.:):):) but I do see the changes for the good. And yes very much needed and appreciated although I can’t tell her that. :):)
