Beautiful Daze

To my mom, yes, ...I realize that it should be day's not daze...and that interpolation (previous blog) is numerical analysis...but no one really reads this anyway do they?  So I can have a little fun with words?  Flowers in my sisters yard.  Previous blog too...but just hadn't messed with pictures for awhile.  So, when it is beautiful in Seattle...there just has to be a bike ride to take somewhere.  I've been going down to the Green River trail.  Had started out at 8 miles...and now up to 10 miles.  I have remembered how to spit...is that something one can forget?  Anyway, none the worse for wear...means I really should up it to 15...can anyone talk me out of it?  ARGHH!  The scenery is beautiful on the ride...not that I pay that much attention to it...but every once in awhile I look up and count my blessings!  The elk on the mountain (look at the end of the arrow).  Capt Paul has gone twice riding my mom's bike...two miles!  Pretty darn cool! And, then of course there is Mizzen.  She LOVES it here at my mom's house!  She and my mom's dog, Paloma may have even decided that they can live in the same house!  Mizzen has some new toys to add to her old toys and has already learned a few things from Paloma! So, mom...thank you...it is fun to spend some of these beautiful day's with you...and it was good of you to admit that on a bright beautiful sunny Sunday morning on your way to church you accidentally turned the windshield wipers on in Higgins...and then...could not figure out how to turn them off!  I wonder how many other people noticed and enjoyed your muse!  Hmmmm, maybe that is what I meant by daze?

Some Wow's....

We are at my mom's house now...well, I've been at my sister's for the last two days.  And, speaking of my sister...

Capt Paul and I had arrived at the Seattle airport and I had gotten Capt Paul and our carry on luggage (including Mizzen) down to the pickup curb.  There were THREE lanes of cars parked...waiting for people to arrive.  Usually the police keep the "waiting" parked cars to only one lane...but that night it had grown to the three lanes...basically out of control!  I walked between the parked cars, a tad animated, and spoke aloud of how the cars that are not loading should not be in the way of those that are loading...and an older gentleman approached me.  He said, "Anne"....to which I responded "no?"...yet I looked at him very closely as that is one of my sisters names.  Then he proceeded to name my brother, my other sister, me, our last name (my maiden name) and told me his name.  I was drawing a complete blank.  Because of his look (remember, I mentioned he was an older gentleman) and I could not place him, I pointed to my mom waiting in the car and said...oh, then you must know my mom...to which he graciously went out to my mom's car and introduced himself saying, "I took a Algebra class with your daughter, Joyce, in high school"!  He followed me over to the curb and I then introduced him to Capt Paul (still with no memory of him).  I thanked him for recognizing me (I considered that to be a big WOW) but admitted to him that I still could not place his name or him! I continued to get luggage from the airport to the car and off we went to my mom's house.   So, the above could be interpolated a few different ways!  I've decided the way I'm going to share with you is of course...WOW...I must look the same as I did in high school...because HE RECOGNIZED ME!

So...got to see my oldest daughter...make plans with my youngest daughter...talk more than a few times with my VERY busy son, and, have just had a couple of wonderful days with my sister.  Yesterday my sister and I went to lunch with my girlfriend...and we had such a wonderful sisterly...laughing time!  More wow...I'm feeling pretty blessed right now!

Return to obamaland....damn

Wed June 15th 2:28pm
As we get ready to make our trip north, we sit here in the cool boat watching Fox news and Glen Beck. Unless we all wake up we will be having violence in the streets like Greece . Hope it can wait till we get back down here. Could not afford to live up there on my disability check. Not sure what will happen when the bottom falls out and the the dollar tanks. Those of you that voted for change...well you got it now.
Joyce seems to have us fairly organized, we get the cat's .....she is no longer a kitten.....papers tomorrow, finish up a few delicacies left in the freezer....double up on the lines and put out and anchor (not supposed have hurricanes down here till September when we get back) It has been pretty lonely around here. Roy finally left for the Rio, Saturday.....he has been my drinking buddy since Jim and Norma left 3 weeks ago. Have had Travis over again to fix stuff on the boat....best 50 bucks spent yet....did fix our diesel leak...have pumped a few hundred bucks of diesel into the harbor....been blaming the dive boats till we ran out of fuel. Put some dye from my leak kit in the tank, found 2 frenchie hose clamps that had rotted away....A/C pump and water pumps changed out....even changed out my fuel polishing pump....been running for 3 years....pumps my fuel through a roll of toilet paper before (over the side before we fixed the leak) and then to the engines or back to the tank. Have managed to get 1/2 a tank 20 gals at a time....about $3.50 a gal here...gas about 4 bucks.......that's at the gas station.......almost $5 a gallon bucks here at the marina...
Joyce has been busy diving and trying to sell her condo in Z. We found a lot on the water down here....would be nice if it all came together...her condo sells, I sell the boat and we find a small trawler .....well we can dream...
I did get upgraded by Delta on the way back....so Mizzen and I get to sit up front.... would be more important on the way back when we need the extra luggage allowance, will cross our fingers. So we will see you all back in obamaland this weekend

Schooled....humbled...and, honored...

Yes, I have been schooled and humbled!
By this couple...diving with me at Mary's Place. Capt Paul use to tease me over two years ago  about spending a lot of time using my fish/creature/coral id books to look up all the beautiful and fun stuff I would take pictures of.  He may have even mentioned it in a blog or two way back!  With no one to bounce the id's off of...well...really, I should just watch more carefully to whom I give the blog address to!  Ha ha ha!  I won't go back too far on the blog to correct any mis-identifications...but yes, humbly, I did change Puddingwifes to Parrotfish (previous blog).  Now, there are some things that are easy to id...
like the Banded Coral Shrimp that live in the sponges along the wall at Mary's Place.
A Butter Hamlet...then just a beautiful look at what we dive through...A look at some of the beautiful sponges and corals...on to a mix of pictures taken from the many dives we have enjoyed together this week. A Yellowline Arrow Crab...a couple of big something-or-others (hows that for id) scooting by...Green Moray...Green Moray...Queen Triggerfish...Scrawled Cowfish...Flamingo Tongue...Glassy Sweeper...Juvenile/Intermediate Spotted Drum...Ocean Surgeonfish/Doctorfish/Blue Tang/one lonely Parrotfish (covered all my bases here!!)...Permit being followed by a Bar Jack...Nassau Grouper....And, while I could not find them a Tophat (another story altogether)...a Seahorse (except for Steve on the back dock)...I was able to find them plenty of Green Moray's!  Even one as we went through Calvins Crack!  French Angelfish kissing?  Is it in the water?  Or fish see...people do?  Sadly (for me) they sailed (well motored actually) out this morning heading for the Rio Dulce.  The moral of this blog is that I have been schooled and humbed...yet honored.  From now on WHEN I choose to identify something...you can BET that I will be triple checking that I am correct...OR, I will generically id it...because those in the "know" are watching!  I will add that I am honored that they might continue to read the blog...and very happy to have met them and shared some great diving with them!

As Capt Paul said...yes...I am...

Diving every day that is...A couple sailed into French Harbor...headed to the Rio Dulce in June...and if ever there were people as crazy about being under the water as me...well, it's them!
When it was windy we were diving the local sites...this picture is from Mr Bud...I just had to"ride" the bike that was left on deck!
and yesterday when the winds calmed a bit we took our dingy's over to Mary's Place.
Now I've been on that site twice...always following a Divemaster...
so we planned the dive with our compass and I have to say...well...
it is a gorgeous dive and we are hoping to go back today we all enjoyed it so much!   I still haven't figured out the new blogger format...especially when it puts the pictures in sideways...
not sure why it happens on only a few...but hopefully the beauty of the site will show through!

This school of Parrotfish were putting on a show...three or four at a time would swim really fast straight up from around 45 feet to maybe 20 feet while one would excreet a white liquid...
pretty sure I was watching as they were doing a mating dance!  Ha ha ha!!  Oh, and daily (depending on boat chores) this couple goes swimming the equivalent of around the island (Fantasy Island) and they invited me to go...I did...which reminded me of Steve (below) on the back dock...
and, now...today is my day to motivate us to get out swimming later (after our dive)!  So maybe if I conclude this blog with a picture of Mizzen, Paul will not give me such a ration about the rest of the underwater pictures...(he so loves our kitty)
especially since Mizzen just loves my BCD...when I return from diving and set it on the boat she will curl up inside it and take a nap!
