Capt Paul here…Monday morning…NO WIND….warm and sunny…so we decided to stay here (Deltaville Va)..for the day and do some boat chores…well the generator was not completely fixed…damn thing decided to call it quits this morning….have had a hard time making it latch on to the 220 v through the newly replaced switch..Called the gen man and bitched…not really his problem…started to replace the switch with one of the other 2 spares I had..(3 for $75 on EBay) List price was $191. After finding a loose ground which probably burned out the contactors, replaced the switch…now all is well….Replaced the existing nylon jenny sheets…thought they were Dacron..with new 5/8’ Dacron…yep on eBay for $.50 a foot…what a bargain…now flushing the watermaker membrane with a cleaner….needed it bad…..water in bucket an ugly brown….3:30 pm….water maker cleaned and flushed….now making water while clothes are being washed….can’t waste this 73 deg day….have to get the clothes up so they will dry….Joyce also cleaned the little propeller thingy on the knot meter…has been fouled since July…she let in less water than I would…faster hands…and she can fit down in the small space in the forward locker…got a lot done today…glad we stayed…going to Norfolk tomorrow. fuel up and get ready for the run around Hatteras…looks like a weather window for Thur AM……will head for Wrightsville Beach just east of Wilmington NC…about a 44 hr trip so it will be a double overnight….been a long work day…going to reward ourselves with a nice steak dinner and a bottle of wine.. as for food Joyce has me eating sprouts and avocado roll-ups for breakfast..not bad..but will have to find something to spice them up some…she seems to liked almost everything I cook…had my garlic rosemary lamb cooked in wine and tomatoes with pasta last night…ate that too…good thing we are not in contact with the outside world…we would be called the garlic people…I think we ever sweat garlic…we got one of those big net bags of garlic at Sam’s last week..about a 1/5th is already gone…
