Lazy Day in Ft Pierce

Monday AM Well we spent yesterday anchored off the marina right next to the "Ditch" A few ditch diggers joined us for the night. This whole area is "SHALLOW"...all of South Florida is skinny. We draw 7 ft...maybe a little more with all Joyce's food aboard. 7 ft is alot down here, We are anchored here with 1 1/2 ft of water under the keel. 3 yrs ago the boat swung with tide toward shore and stranded me at low tide. The Lady has a wing keel......it's about 3 feet wide and can stand on her keel. The Lady's waterline was 2 ft out of the water. The tides here run about 4-5 feet. This group of fisherman was standing on an little island, but as you can see...no island.....

We have decided to stay here today as winds are 15-20 out of the SE...which would be right on the nose...not in the mood to burn that expensive diesel I bled big dollars for on Saturday. Winds are supposed to be below 10 kts tomorrow...guess we will motor down slowly....the 15-20 would be a real uncomfortable slug to windward. If one must motor into the wind...below 10 kts is best.
