Leaving Norfolk for warmer weather...

Thursday AM here....cool for me COLD for Joyce...wearing ALL of her clothes..me still in shorts and a t-shirt....arrived into Norfolk Monday night after a cold sail down the Bay...Anchored off the Naval Hospital near mile 0 of the ditch...Inter-coastal to all the ditch diggers that use it to go to Florida. We have waited for a weather window to leave and go around Hatteras. We have a pretty good window for the next 2 days...not too much wind from the right direction....should be motoring around Hatteras early tomorrow am....going to bypass Beaufort NC and go on to Wrightsville Beach . A double overnight...but making southerly gains. Fueled up in Norfolk...
$2.99 a gallon....don't think we will see that till we get to Venezuela. We moved out to my close to the Atlantic spot yesterday did 2 loads of laundry and watched the Navy play with their helicopters and little boats.
Expensive tow
Looked like a little sub
Saw a copter tow a sub of some kind...think the guys in the boats were Seals...cool...well have to eat and get going...
