They say timing is everything. The generator was repaired on Friday; we sailed out of the Baltimore on Saturday (November 2nd) after saying final goodbyes and thank yous to all at the Inner Harbor East Marina. We had great wind! Lady H was fantastically smooth at the 8 plus knots the wind at times was able to move her. For all the non-sailor’s out there – I made what I hope is my only – but I’ll admit was my first non-sailor mistake – probably three hours into our sail…Paul was ever so kind not to mention it even though he had to cut the jenny line…I’m so glad that it was the old line that we had talked about replacing but had never gotten around to…busy with other things…so Paul already has the new line to replace it! The wind started and stopped a few times in the afternoon and with the help of the new sail we were able to make it to the Solomon’s and anchor just before dark. What a beautiful spot! So many boats to look at…so little time!
Sunday we were up and off rather leisurely after a great breakfast of corn beef hash and eggs! Unfortunately no real wind so we motor sailed. Behind us was a line of sailboats headed south as well
