Wrightsville Beach Nov 10-11

Sunday 1 pm......well it cooled off here last night....down into the 30's. Joyce was in possession of all the down comforters. Up to Home fries sausage and eggs.. by then it was sunny and getting warmer...was decided yesterday the Joyce was going to taste one of the East Coast delicacy ... a softshell crab sandwich.

1 softshell crab, cleaned live then battered and deep fried. Onto a bun with lettuce and sauce....eat it shell and all...wow...had to start her with a few legs...ate overlooking the ICW (ditch) at noon they opened the bridge to let a bunch of ditch diggers and this unique cruise ship...notice all the masts have been cut off so it can go under all the 65' bridges on the ICW. The Lady H can't do the Ditch...too tall 68' and too deep 7'. We had friends that left Baltimore 3 weeks ago...talked to them in Charleston...our next stop. The Diggers can only get in 50-60 miles a day.....we knocked off 275 Thur though Sat...true we are resting today...but there was no wind today to move so we go tomorrow...10-15 kt from the west....will try and sail the whole thing...have 30 hrs to go 100 miles....rest up in Charleston then an overnight to Fernandina Beach on the SC-Fl border...we must get poor Joyce warm!!
