St Thomas is getting old

Thur Mar 6th 6:46 pm. Time to leave this place. Tired of the "cattle boat" people, tired of the locals and their attitude.....time to move on. Would be interesting to see what would happen to the USVI if we gave them their islands back and quit sending all the millions of tax dollars down here. A big price for our piece of the Caribbean.

There were 4 boats in this harbor alone, probably another 2 over at the other cattle boat dock. We didn't even go into town. A real zoo.We are still waiting for some wind a little north of east. Right now Sunday looks good. We want to get the gearbox on the out haul rebuilt. This has been leaking oil on the fordeck for some time. Amel will be doing the work. I started to remove the motor...oops..more than my work permit allows. We have booked tickets from Ft Lauderdale to Z for Joyce's friends wedding in late May. So now we had a drop dead date...WHICH means unless we are careful with the time we will have to motor to get someplace on time. Want to be in Margarita by the end of the month ....the dink dealer receives his new shipment and we want the pick of the litter. Hopping for an aluminum model but will take what we can. Once we leave here wind direction is not as important till we leave Margarita on the sail north. If we have seen everything we want to see then we can sail up to St Martin and St Bart's with little concern as to wind direction. From there to the Virgins, a stop in the Turks and Cacois then back to the US. We will see how these plans work over time. We had pizza for dinner...damn I;m getting good at this...recipe in the book with a few additions. Could never sell the damn things...would go broke on the ingredient's. One final run tomorrow for stuff we won't see till back here or the US.
