Fuel Prices go up as one goes South

Thanks to the wind gods we have used about 1/3 (50 gal) of fuel since leaving Norfolk.... OPPS... forgot we have run the Gen-set more than usual...to keep the 1st mate warm.....I fueled up there because it was 43 cents a gallon cheaper there than here in Charleston. Since we were going to stay put waiting for wind , thought we might fuel here. Was $3.42 a week ago...now $ 3.59. I have enough to get to the Keys and maybe back in January. Don't want to fill up down there...$$$$$..I called down to Ft Lauderdale...$4.60 and $4.63 ..no way..they have a fuel barge that comes to you..$2.99 but you have a min of 500 gallons...damn..the highest I paid last yr was in Ft Pierce...called them...$3.45..St Augustine was $3.59, Ferdinina Beach $3.60. So the fugal Capt will fuel up in Ft Pierce and then top of in Miami for $3.99 before leaving for the Bahamas....maybe I will have enough to make it to Margarita so I can fill up for $.40 a gallon delivered to the boat. Ba Humbug!!!
