Albeit...just down the river a bit and around the bend to where Paul had arranged for the boat to be hauled and the bottom cleaned and painted.
I had only seen the bottom of the boat from under the water when I was cleaning it...so of course I had to take lots of pictures..........
It was pretty scummy...but most of the saltwater growth had died and fallen off in this fresh water environment.
It was pretty obvious though that it needed new bottom paint...
So the work began...pressure wash...wet sand...and then the paint that Paul had kept on board for all of these months.
While the work was being done...we could not live aboard AND they told Paul it would be TEN DAYS! Music to my ears as then Paul looked at me and said..."well, we might as well go to Tikal"!!! Pam and Al invited us to stay on their boat...The Great Escape (the above 87 foot motor yacht)! It was WONDERFUL...ROOMY...I slept great and I could have gotten use to it!!! We had a great time with them both...they were (are) so gracious and helpful! After a few days we arranged for a bus to Flores (it will be the NEXT couple of blogs) were there for a few days...returned...and again thanks to Pam and Al...we had a wonderful place to stay...as Paul's boat still was not ready!

The Lady H splashed down...
